Hawk-Seal-E provides a cost-effective method of waterproofing, protecting and preserving asphalt surfaces.
Hawk-Seal-E is extremely effective for extending the life of newly constructed asphalt pavement and for corrective maintenance on older asphalt surfaces. Hawk-Seal is remarkable in its ability to delay the aging process.
Hawk-Seal-E is a naphthenic emulsion cross-linked with copolymers. There is a very strong attraction between the naphthenic emulsion in Hawk-Seal-E and asphalt which has lost its naphthenic acid fraction due to the effects of water and oxidation.
By replenishing some of these lost fractions and by the introduction of the copolymers, an asphalt surface can be waterproofed, preserved and protected. Maintenance costs are significantly reduced.
Hawk-Seal-E will penetrate and waterproof an existing asphalt surface by:
- filling surface voids
- successfully sealing off small cracks that cause big problems
- enhancing the existing binder
- renewing some degree of surface plasticity in newer surfaces

As the naphthenic emulsion is absorbed into the asphalt surface, the copolymers are also drawn into the asphalt binder. The copolymers add strength and increase surface durability. Hawk-Seal actually becomes part of the asphalt surface. The result is a stronger, more flexible, non-slippery running surface that is highly resistant to the effects of water and sun.
Hawk-Seal-E is easy to apply, is not slick, will not track, is worker friendly and environmentally safe.
In fact, Hawk-Seal-E is so safe it has been applied to asphalt walking trails along the environmentally sensitive Missouri River in Montana.
Hawk-Seal-E has such a tremendous affinity for asphalt that it has been used very successfully to penetrate and bind together old, unscreened asphalt millings to create an excellent asphalt wear surface. After Hawk-Seal-E is applied, in most cases the finished surface looks and wears like a new asphalt overlay. Hawk-Seal offers excellent preventative maintenance.
Hawk-Seal-E is not a short-term cosmetic fix.
