| Hawk-Seal-E
is extremely
effective for
extending the
life of newly
constructed asphalt
pavement and for
corrective
maintenance on
deteriorated
asphalt surfaces.
The
product is remarkable in its ability
to delay the
aging process from the outset and to
reverse premature aging. |
New
asphalt
as well as
old
asphalt should definitely be
maintained with Hawk-Seal-E. As
the sun dries out and oxidizes the
surface, the asphalt binder breaks
down. The asphaltenes (solvents)
vaporize. This process causes the
asphalt to shrink and lose
flexibility. The shrinkage results
in cracks. Many times the cracks
first show up in the low traffic
(low compaction) areas. Water
enters the base and sub-grade
through these cracks. This causes
the base and sub-grade to become
weaker. Unless this process is
slowed, base failure and failure
of the asphalt surface will
result. In many cases, damage in
low traffic areas is caused
because the asphalt dries out, not
because it wears out.
Hawk-Seal-E will fill surface
voids, successfully seal small
cracks that cause big problems,
enhance the existing binder and
renew some degree of surface
plasticity. As the naphthenic
emulsion is absorbed into the
asphalt surface, the co-polymers
are also drawn into the asphalt
binder. The co-polymers add
strength and increase durability.
Hawk-Seal-E actually becomes part
of the asphalt surface. The result
is a stronger, more flexible,
non-slippery running surface that
is highly resistant to the effects
of sun and water.

is
a true penetrating asphalt
maintenance treatment that
Creates
a long-term waterproof barrier.
Hawk-Seal-E
Should
be used on any surfaces which
have been covered with a seal coat or
a chip seal.
